Jim Shelton

Principal

Jim is a founding partner and owner of Shelton McNally and focuses on corporate strategy, capital raising, investor relationships and transactions.

Jim has 43 years of commercial real estate experience across investment, development, acquisition, disposition and asset management activities.

Prior to Shelton McNally, Jim spent 14 years as Vice Chairman at Carter & Associates, where he oversaw all of the capital markets and investment aspects of Carter’s acquisition and development of over $1.5 billion of mixed use, office, multifamily and student housing assets.

Jim earned a B.A. in Finance from Southern Methodist University and is a graduate of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta.  He holds, or has held leadership roles in community organizations including The Atlanta Police Foundation, Athletes for a Better World, Young Life Africa Expeditions, The UGA Parent and Leadership Council and various committees at The Westminster Schools.  Jim has been married to Elizabeth for 39 years and they have three grown children and five grandchildren.
