JIM SHELTON

Principal

Jim has 40 years of commercial real estate experience across investment, development, acquisition, disposition and asset management activities.

Most recently, Jim spent 14 years as Vice Chairman at Carter & Associates, where he oversaw all of the capital markets and investment aspects of Carter’s acquisition and development of over $1.5 billion of mixed use, office, multifamily and student housing assets.

Prior to Carter, Jim was at Resource Real Estate Partners acquiring, financing and selling commercial office and industrial assets. Before that, he was an investment sales broker at Ben Carter Associates, executing the sale of commercial and office assets in the southeastern U.S. And prior to BCA, Jim spent 13 years at Peterson Properties leasing, financing, acquiring and disposing of office and industrial assets.

Jim earned a B.A. in Finance from Southern Methodist University and is a graduate of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta.  He holds leadership roles in community organizations including The Atlanta Police Foundation, Athletes for a Better World and Young Life Africa Expeditions.  Jim has been married to Elizabeth for 36 years and they have three grown children and one grandbaby.
